The Graeter Art Gallery closing fucked me up for a bit.  I have all this new work that I was making for my show in may.  I am back where I was over a year ago.  I will be putting thing out there in Portland for the next year in as many spots as I can.  I have a show planned for The Back Space in may to take the place of the show at the Graeter.  I have placed these two paintings at Muu Muu's, an eating establishment located right next to Cinima 21 on North West 21st street. More to come.  I had ten pieces in The Big 300 at Haberman's gallery and I think they all sold.  I will try and post more art here more often.

I slip my hand away from the right path, for which the ghostly souls are forever grateful, with white bleached bones and rolling eyeballs, to their ready-made scowling visages, with strings of thought pearls around slender necks they rise and look at every step and believe it is a dream on which the pearls, drowned out of sight in milk energy and love, are left behind.

The threefold aspect of a storm watching the ant children, loosing the ability to lucid dream, and when his mother mentions that he’s ‘always been a bit strange’, acted collectively, with the seed of the blue stone, to create a son via a human woman.  She reviewed the day’s work and gesticulated in pardonable self-approbation while her companion kept trying in vain to adapt the swing and long-limbed spider gait of a disheveled old poet. To the three, the humans are the ants. They are only interested in directing the people in such a way that they do not know that they are being directed.

Latest painting for the new gallery. I am going to be showing with Jesse Reno in December.  There will be a group show for the opening in October.  This painting is still waiting for a name.  At the moment I am calling it space girl, but that is only the beginning.

These are images of my new "Bee Hive Temple".  I have lots of options on this hive.
1. Split roof design allows for easier access.
2. Special bars for top feeding and straighter comb and better ventilation.
3. Screened bottom board.
4. Observation window, see bees.
5. Quilt box, also split
5. Winter top bar channel for lateral movement.
6. Linseed oil and bee's wax flame finish.
7. Bottom drawer to view mite activity and close screen in winter.
8. Rye painted burlap cover that goes between bars and quilt. A great way to top feed or medicate or just check on part of the hive.  Also a great way to collect propolis.
9. Covered porch with entrance reducer.
10. Every hive is hand crafted with magical details.

If you are interested you can email me at wildskil@teleport.com.  The price is $500.

Spring Bee Temple Sale.

Kenyan Style Top Bar Hive
Modified for the Pacific North West

I am selling bee temples.  Warre hives and Kenyan style top bar hives that have been augmented for the wet cold winters.
1. Sloped roof allows for water to drain off and not just sit on top.
2. Quilt box for insulation and the escape of moisture.  Can be filled with sawdust or moss or herbs.
3. Rye flower impregnated burlap cover for inspecting and feeding.
4. A porch roof with columns to support a hive entrance reducer and extra rain protection
5. Screened bottom board with drawers for ventilation and mite count.
6. Observation window.  See bees.
7. Bars with spaces between them.  The bees build straighter comb and can be top fed in winter.
8. Wax impregnated wood for weather protection.

Hives are $500 plus shipping.  If you are in the Portland-Washougal area pick up can be arranged.

This is a Warre style hive that I built last year.  It is home to a hive of bees that I saved from a house in Vancouver Washington.  I had to help them make a new queen by giving larve from another hive because I either lost the queen in the removal process or killed her.

Do you want to take a trip into my mind?  Just stare away at the flashing images for as long as possible and write whatever comes into your head and post it.

another animation of a painting creation
i am in the middle of a new painting.  it is one of those longer processes.  i am showing a bit of my process now.  i think this will allow for some deeper understanding of what goes into the construction of my work.

minature painting photo mix

winter warm and wet rain.  we are in the boot stealing mud with our digging.  later we will wash our bodies with our rough hands and minty soap.  thank you for your sleeping form.  thank flesh and blood and musk.  only strangers can really smell our smell and how it mixes.  we breathe and mix breath so long that you lungs know my lungs.  lately we have not.  lately we have grown so together that we mingle with the furniture and blend with the cushions.  when i lay my head on your breast it is my breast.  sometimes when the cat is sleeping on your head i think you have new hair.

Warre hive in wood shop.

I actually brought this one inside the house to feed the bees.  I did not close it up enough so 100 bees escaped and had to be caught in sugar water.

Battle Lake to Minneapolis

2x2 oil painting.

Visiting the near dead.  Organ.  Transplant not an option.  I don't think I brought my breathing apparatus.  I don't even feel grown.  I thank those with the holes in their head who allow me to empty my storage into their imagination.

she painted animals with big ears.  the absinthe was flowing and there was a psychedelic klesmer band playing out in the driveway.  she liked my surface and asked if i could show her how it was done.  i wondered about what she would look like covered in grass clippings.  it was too cold for that.

i had a small robot in my pocket that shifted its possession.

there is a future in magnetism. there is a even larger chance that i will be sitting around doing nothing for a month.  the radio is eating my head so in defense i stuff my pipe with yard and avoid cleaning the house.  lover on a plane.  there have been lines drawn in the sand and i am blurring them with my heavy breath.

seduction of animals.  on my tongue and in my nose.  the golden liquid makes my blood glow and i sprout antlers that get tangled in sheets and undergarments.  i have little monkey teeth all over you.  if you would just get out of my nose everything would sleep.  i am leaking.

bee sides painting i am a bee keeper.  keeper of bees.  the synonyms for keep are: stay, remain, be, maintain, continue, store, hang on to, prevent, protect, honor, own.  this can lead us to an understanding of what we have to do as a "bee keeper".  it is a complicated business.  as a bee keeper you don't just go out and buy a bunch of supplies and chemicals and buy bees and follow the norm.  if you do you are a bee farmer of the lowest order.  but it can not stay that way for long.  the bees will get into you and either you will adapt to them and their needs or you will become a bee warden, a enslaver of bees, a person of dark ignorance who operates in the world with eyes wide shut.  my partner and i keep bees and are trying to learn the old way.  http://www.queenofthesun.com/ she is the one in the poster, dancing with the bees.

these are photos of hives i have built.  they are top bar modified hives.  i am trying to combine elements of 3000 years of bee keeping and help with the re emergence of the art of bee.

the title for this painting is "swimming in the chaos for which there exists much testimony".  i feel as if this is a style of painting that i would like to explore more.  i was happy to sell this artwork to a local warrior artist friend of mine before the show was even hung.

when i returned from burning mickey man mouse i had poison oak on my balls, my father was in the ICU with liver failure and I had to paint 500 2"x2" paintings and a few larger ones in one month.  it was like a vision quest for me.  i had to just focus on the art through the itch and the personal emotional work and the physical toil.  i had to take breaks from painting just to go and soak my junk in oatmeal baths and make frequent calls to the mayo clinic.

below is a detail of the painting.  i started this one with my first foray with an airbrush.  none of the airbrush work is visible.  i just used it to "draw" with.  i am going to explore this more.  the one thing that holds me back with visual art is how slow it is compared to my brain.  i would like to have a paintbrush on each finger that would automatically load itself with good quality oil paint.  i am a very fast painter.  i paint like i write.  i try not to edit too much.  i allow the paint and the surface and my intention to come together and dance in front of me.  i want to be surprised as much as i want you to be surprised.

this is a painting from my most recent show.  it is called "child killing self help."
wow, this is how i am feeling to day.  i was supposed to get a "packet" together to deliver to galleries and i hate it.  the people that surround me are just pushing the knife in, they do not want me to play.  fuck art.

someone asked me to tell them about this painting
